A Rustic-Chic Wedding at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge
Katelyn and William’s October 31, 2025 wedding at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren, NJ was a beautiful fusion of rustic charm and modern elegance. Nestled in the Watchung Mountains on 10 lush acres, the venue’s dramatic architecture — blending wood, stone and steel — and its gorgeous grounds provided the perfect backdrop for an intimate, heartfelt celebration.
From morning preparations to sunset portraits and heartfelt vows, every detail felt thoughtfully planned and deeply meaningful. The mix of natural surroundings, refined indoor spaces, and cozy touches made their day uniquely theirs.
Getting Ready: Anticipation & Friendship Moments
At 12:00 PM, Katelyn began getting ready at a nearby hotel (Courtyard by Marriott, Basking Ridge) with her closest friends — Amy, Mary Frances, Kerry, Kayla, Kelly, Jamie, Jen, and Brittany. Hair and make-up were completed there, and the early energy of the morning was filled with laughter, excitement, and warm connection.
A little later, friends and bridesmaids gathered for a first look with the bride at 1:45 PM — a fun, emotional reveal that set the tone of joy and sisterhood for the day. Then at 2:15 PM, Katelyn shared a tender first look with her dad, a moment full of love and heartfelt emotion.
Meanwhile, William and his groomsmen — Darryl, Christopher, Bobby, Mike, Devon, Mark — prepared at the venue (Landmark Tavern / Stone House). They arrived dressed and ready, and we captured candid “getting ready” moments in the groom’s suite: final touches, relaxed camaraderie, and anticipation.
These early hours gave us beautiful “before the vows” memories — full of authenticity, nerves, and excitement.
Couple Portraits & Creative Location Shots
By 2:30 PM, Katelyn and William met at the venue for their couple portraits. With so many inspiring spaces at Stone House — a wine cellar, vintage-style bar, a pool table room, a chess table nook — we used several for unique, character-filled photos: moody cellar portraits, bar-side elegance, candid pool-table laughter, staircase-descents, and natural grace as they moved through the venue.
We also captured intimate moments during a letter or private-vow exchange seated on the steps by the altar, balcony shots upstairs, and relaxed lounge-area portraits. As the afternoon light softened, the outdoor grounds were used for a few more romantic, timeless portraits — letting the venue’s natural beauty come through in golden-hour images.
Bridal Party & Family Portraits — Capturing Bonds & Support
At 3:00 PM, the bridal party joined for a variety of groupings:
-
Bride with each bridesmaid (Amy, Mary Frances, Kerry, etc.)
-
Groom with each groomsman (Darryl, Christopher, etc.)
-
Mixed combinations (bride with groomsmen, groom with bridesmaids)
-
Full party portraits with everyone together
At 4:00 PM, family portraits followed — parents, siblings, and extended family groups. The venue’s versatile indoor and outdoor spaces provided beautifully varied backdrops: cozy interior lounges, rustic stone walls, and the landscaped grounds.
These photos will stand out for their warmth, connection, and the genuine relationships they reflect.
Ceremony: Meaningful & Intimate Vows in a Stylish Setting
The ceremony began at 5:00 PM in one of the elegant event spaces at Stone House. The venue’s design — a harmonious blend of wood, steel, and stone with large windows or glass doors — created a soft, warm atmosphere for vows and promise-making.
Though simple and sweet, the ceremony held deep meaning: friends and family gathered, heartfelt words were spoken, and love and commitment were shared in a setting that felt timeless.
Cocktail Hour & Reception: Cozy, Joyful Celebration
Cocktail hour began at 5:30 PM — a chance for guests to mingle, enjoy the gardens and patio areas, and take in the autumn vibe at Stirling Ridge. We’ll capture decor details, candid guest interactions, and warm pre-reception moments.
Reception began at 7:00 PM. Key moments to photograph include:
-
The “room reveal” for bride & groom at 6:45 PM — a beautiful, emotional reaction moment to capture
-
First Dance
-
Parent dances
-
Speeches and toasts
-

-
General candid guest interactions, table decor, evening lighting, and the warm, cozy ambiance that makes Stone House feel intimate and inviting
Through it all, we’ll focus on preserving the atmosphere — soft light, wood-and-stone textures, and the genuine emotion of the night.
